First and foremost we hope you are well. We wanted to reach out given the extreme rain we have encountered over the past month and the flooding that we experienced last week in Needham to discuss some coverage options.  We have seen everything going around on social media, from people saying this is never covered to those who think now you need a flood policy to be covered; neither of these are necessarily true so we wanted to share our thoughts…

We were hit really hard here in our hometown of Needham last week and ended up getting over 3.3 inches of rain per hour – a lot of sewers were clogged and the water had no where to end up so sadly it ended up in houses. Matt was hit very hard, so first handedly he knows how frustrating and time consuming the process can be.

There are 2 types of coverage that cover you incase this occurs – Water Back Up/Sump Pump Failure or a separate Flood policy. Water Back Up/Sump Pump coverage is an endorsement attached to your Homeowners policy and some of carriers have limits up to 100k. A Flood policy is a stand alone policy which we can easily quote and would cover you should anything like this occur again. You could purchase both that way you are properly insured should the weather pattern continue to worsen
